Pet Paw Coasters DIY ~ Another Coaster Friday ~ Craft Klatch

If you love your pets as much as I do, you probably like making stuff to honor them.  I have two kitties and I happened upon these paw cut outs and thought it was a perfect opportunity to make one in honor of each.  The gray one is for Spooky and the black one for Pouffy.

Aren't they cute?!?!?!

Here is the video tutorial, so you can see exactly how I made it:

You will need:
Wood shapes - I found mine at Michaels, but these are cute too:
Magenta Pigment:
Red pigment:
Resin (use whatever resin brand you like):
Easy Cast:
Art Resin:
Clear Cast:
FX Poxy: ~ According to the manufacturer, this one is heat resistant to 500 degrees F and is UV resistant.

1.  I found these pet paw cut outs and thought they would make perfect coasters!

2.  They were meant to be ornaments, so I removed to the string and the staple.

3.  I painted one gray for Spooky and the other black for Pouffy.

4.  Once dry, I put packing tape on the back of the paws.

5.  I used a stir stick to burnish the tape on the paw and make sure it was on tight.

6.  I mixed resin - about one ounce - and added in the pigment color.

7.  Then pour the colored resin into the paws.

8.  Use a lighter to pop the bubbles and allow it to cure at least 12 hours.

13.  Once cured, peel off the tape.

That's it!  Now you have two cute coasters!

Hope you like it!  Thanks for stopping by!  Remember:  Life's too short not to shimmer, so grab your glue gun and your glitter!™  Stay safe!
