Resin Straw Coaster DIY | Craft Klatch | Another Coaster Friday

Learn how to make a resin straw coaster!  It's an easy resin craft!

Here is a quick video tutorial to show you how:

You will need (amazon affiliate links):

Resin (use whatever resin brand you like):
This is the resin I used for this project:
FX Poxy:  http://amzn.to/2AF3Pkk ~ According to the manufacturer, this one is heat resistant to 500 degrees F.

Clear Cast:  http://amzn.to/2z4rxGw

Directions:

1.  I found these colorful straws and thought they would look great in a coaster.

2.  Using scissors, I cut them into little pieces.

3.  I mixed and ounce of resin and mixed in the straws.

4.  I poured the mixture into the coaster mold.

5.  I spread the pieces of straw around the mold.

6.  I used my lighter to pop the bubbles and I let it cure a minimum of five hours, so there is no chance of the straw pieces will float with the next coat.

7.  I mixed another ounce of resin and poured it over the coaster.

8.  I used the lighter to pop the bubbles.  I let it cure a minimum of 12 hours.

9.  Once cured, I removed it from the mold.  The colors are very subtle, depending on the background.

That's it!  Thanks for stopping by!  Remember:  Life's too short not to shimmer, so grab your glue gun and your glitter!™  Stay safe!
