Easter Bunny Art DIY ~ Easter Crafts ~ Craft Klatch

Learn how to create a washi tape Easter Bunny DIY!!!  I made it in the Spring, for Easter, but it is actually perfect for a baby nursery and it doesn't have to be a bunny.

Here's a quick video tutorial, so you can see exactly how I made it!

The links below help support this channel,  as I may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you.

You will need:
Document frame:  http://amzn.to/2tYBpnA
Scrapbook paper:  http://amzn.to/2IxHN8s
Washi tape:  http://amzn.to/2tYiid8
Cricut (Amazon):  http://amzn.to/2wChE2l
Cricut vinyls:  http://amzn.to/2w4DOJj

Directions:

1.  I found a bunny image, which I have linked above and I cut it out with my cutting machine.

However, you can also cut it out with your craft knife.

You can cut it out of different colored paper and glitter paper as well.

2.  When you cut out the image, it pops right out.

3.  I traced the shape onto a piece of white card stock.

4.  Then, I broke out my different washi tapes.

5.  I applied the washi tape over the outline and made sure I went well over the edge of the image.

I kept repeating the colors...

Until it was completely covered.

6.  You can change colors for different looks, moods or decor.

7.  I picked up an inexpensive frame from the dollar store and put my bunny into it.

8.  Once closed up, I flipped it over and glued on a pom pom, for a bunny tail!

So cute, whichever color you choose!

That's it!  Thanks for stopping by!  Remember:  Life's too short not to shimmer, so grab your glue gun and your glitter!™  Stay safe!

After making my Resin Easter Bunny House, I was asked to make the little bunnies I had sitting in the lawn.  Bunnies aren't just for Easter anymore, so I'll show you how!!

You will need:
-  White polymer clay
-  White acrylic paint (optional)
-  Pink acrylic paint
-  Black acrylic paint
-  Skewer stick

Here is the video tutorial:

Directions:
1.  Take some white polymer clay and roll it into a ball.  Roll it on your work surface, putting a little extra pressure on one end, which gives it more of a pear shape.  If you want it more round, that’s okay too!

2.  Take two smaller pieces of clay and roll them into balls.  You want them to be pretty equal in size.  Squish them a little to flatten them out and now you have the feet.  Attach it to the bottom of the body and smooth as needed.

3.  Take two smaller pieces and again roll them into balls and attach them onto both sides of the body for the hands.  Smooth as needed.

4.  Take two additional pieces, but flatten them into bunny ear shapes.  Attach and smooth.  Position ears.

5.  Take one round ball and attach the tail.

6.  Bake the clay in your oven, according to the package directions.

7.  Once the bunny has cooled, I painted white acrylic paint over the whole thing.  I have a hard time keeping my white clay clean, so this brightens it up.  Allow to dry.

8.  Using a skewer stick, I took pink acrylic paint and painted the inner ears, the nose and pads on the hands and feet and the belly.  I took black for the face.

Allow to dry and now you have a super cute bunny wabbit!

That's it!  Thanks for stopping by!  Happy Crafting and stay safe!

After doing my Big Peep Plushie video, I was asked to do a Peeps coaster.  How could I resist!  I'll show you how to make these cute coasters!

You will need:

-  Coaster mold
-  Resin (I used Easy Cast, but Envirotex Lite would work just as well)
-  Green confetti
-  Green glitter
-  Pictures of Peeps - I printed mine using a laser printer
-  Super Gloss Mod Podge

Here are some items available through Amazon, incase you want to give it a try:

Here is the video tutorial:

Directions:
1.  Prepare your resin, according to the package directions.
2.  Mix in glitter and confetti.
3.  Pour into mold and allow to cure a minimum of 12 hours.
4.  Print out pictures of Peeps.  I use a laser printer and cardstock.  Once I cut it out, I like to use a black permanent market and run it along the cut out edge.
5.  Brush the Mod Podge all over the coaster.  Brush onto the back of the picture.  Put the picture on the coaster and add another layer over the whole coaster.  Allow to dry between coats.  Add one or two more coats.
6.  When the Mod Podge has COMPLETELY dried, prepare more resin.  Pour over the coasters and allow to cure a minimum of 12 hours before unmolding.

That's it!  Thanks for stopping by and Happy Crafting!

Easter is coming and there is still plenty of time to create these fun and easy Easter Bunny Crafts.  You can make them with either a golf ball or a wood bead.

You will need:

-  Golf ball - or wood bead
-  White acrylic paint
-  Black acrylic paint
-  Pink acrylic paint
-  Eyescrew
-  White craft foam
-  Glue (hot glue or other)
-  Paint brush or skewer stick
-  Thin pastel ribbon
-  Drill or rotary tool

Here is the video tutorial:

Directions:

1.  Drill a hole into the golf ball.  Use a thin drill bit.
2.  Screw the eye screw into the golf ball.
3.  Paint the golf ball and eye screw white.  It will take at least two coats.
4.  Once dry, use a skewer stick to paint on the features - I show you how to easily do it in the video above.
5.  Once dry, cut the white craft foam into the shape of bunny ears.
6.  Use pink paint to paint on the inner ear.
7.  Once dry, glue them onto the head.

Polymer Clay Bunny DIY

To stay up on the latest, be sure to SUBSCRIBE to the Craft Klatch YouTube Channel HERE!

It's awfully snowy here, but I'm trying to rise above and think Spring thoughts!

You will need:
-  White, black, orange and green polymer clay
-  Black acrylic paint
-  Pink acrylic paint
-  Glue

Here is the video tutorial:

Directions:
1.  Take a piece of white clay and roll it into a ball.  Then create a pear shaped piece and this will create the body.
2.  Create a smaller piece, large enough to create the head.  Attach it to the body.
3.  Create two longer pieces for the legs and attach to the bottom of the body.  Indent an area for the foot, on each leg.
4.  Create two smaller pieces for arms and attach.
5.  Roll two very small balls for the area by the mouth/under the nose and attach.
6.  Create two ears and attach to the head.  I bent one a little for a little character.
7.  Roll two tiny black pieces for the eyes.  Use a pen or an embossing tool to press into the middle of the eyes.
8.  Add a smaller black piece for the nose.
9.  Add a piece for the tail.
10.  To create the carrot, shape a piece of orange and attach a piece of green.  I cut the green to make it look like the greens on the carrot.
11.  Bake everything according to your clay package directions.
12.  With light pink paint, paint the insides of the ears and add details to the bottoms of the feet and paws.
13.  I used a skewer stick to add tiny dots on the areas under the nose.
14.  Glue the carrot in place and that's it!

Thanks for stopping by and Happy Crafting!

Here is my last Easter craft of the season, though this can really be for anytime of year.

You will need:
-  Air dry clay
-  Aluminum foil
-  Wire - you can use a wire hanger, but I found some great floral wire at Dollar Tree
-  Acrylic paint (white, pink, dark gray)
-  Blue thin ribbon
-  Find sandpaper or fine sanding block
-  Fishing line
-  Plastic eyes
-  Pliers
-  Hot glue
-  Matte sealer or varnish
-  Gloss sealer or varnish

The Das is the clay I used and the Paperclay is the other clay also like working with:

Here is the video tutorial:

Directions:
1.  Take your wire and bend it to the shape of a bunny.  It will look much like a bunny stick drawing.  This will give you your general form.  For the arms, take a piece (twice as long and you want one arm to be) and bend it in half.  Wrap it around the body and pinch it tight with the pliers - where you want the arms to be positioned.  Use a little hot glue to keep it in place temporarily.
2.  Take aluminum foil and begin wrapping the wire.  Roll the foil into a ball in places you want in thicker.  The aluminum foil is a great product to mold you bunny into a general shape.  Watch video to see how I did it.
3.  Once you have the wire completely covered and shaped, it's time for the clay.  But first, position the bunny the way you want.  Will he be sitting or standing?  Will his arms be up or down?  Will the ears be standing up straight or drooping?
4.  Take the clay and begin covering the foil.  To smooth the clay, have a little bit of water nearby and dip your fingers into the water and that helps smooth the clay.  Work until you have the whole piece covered.  You may want to do it in stages.  Let it completely dry.
5.  Once dry, now you want to use your sandpaper (if needed) and give it a quick sand.  Be sure to wear a mask while doing this.
6.  Take the eyes and cut off the stem.  Hot glue them where you would like them placed.
7.  Taking small pieces of clay, create the eyelids and the the bottoms of the eyes.  Also add eyebrows.  Remember to keep smoothing and use water to help it adhere to the dry clay.
8.  Take a small ball of clay an make a nose.  I wanted mine to be a triangle, but it doesn't have to be.  I used a skewer stick to poke in the nostrils.
9.  I took two balls of clay and put them under the nose and blended.
10.  I took a small strip and created the bottom of the mouth.
11.  Then I took two small rectangles and made the buck teeth.
12.  I added two balls of clay to both sides of his face, to create cheeks and blended them in.
13.  Let everything dry.
14.  Now it's time to paint.  Paint the entire bunny (except the eyes) white.  It took two coats.
15.  Using the pink, paint in the nose, the ears, the mouth and make dots on the hands and feet.
16.  Take the dark gray to lightly define the eyebrows and put dots where the whiskers will go.
17.  Allow to dry.
18.  If you want to seal him with the matte varnish, now would be the time.  Then go over only the teeth with a gloss varnish.
19.  Cut long pieces of fishing line and glue into place.  Once adhered, trim to the length you want.
20.  Tie a bow around his neck and you have a cute bunny!

Happy Easter everyone!  Thank you for stopping by and Happy Crafting!

DIY Resin Easter Bunny Decoration - Make Something Monday

I wanted to try a larger resin project for Easter and found this bunny mold on Amazon.  This is the one I ordered:

This is how it turned out:

You will need:
-  Silicone bunny mold
-  Resin - I used Easy Cast (www.eti-usa.com)
-  Acrylic paint (yellow, pink, blue, white and black)
-  Resin dye (opaque white and black)
-  Wire (I bought inexpensive wire at Dollar Tree)
-  Mold release (optional:  it makes your molds last longer)

Here is the video tutorial:

Directions:
(Optional:  Prep your mold with mold release and let dry)
1.  With acrylic paint, paint in the ears, nose, mouth, eyes, teeth and bow tie.  Remember you are painting on silicone.  The paint will not want to adhere and won't give you full coverage right away.  It will take two or three coats to have nice coverage.
2.  Allow all the paint to dry.  Take a small amount of resin and add some white dye.  Mix well.  Then using a very small amount of black.  Add a little at a time.  You can always add more, but you can't take it out. Once you have reached the desired shade of gray, using a toothpick, carefully drip the resin into the indents of the features.
3.  Allow to cure.
4.  Prepare some more resin - I did two batches.  Follow the directions on the package, but you should not mix too much up in one batch, or you risk not mixing it properly.
5.  Mix in white resin dye - mix well.
6.  Pour into mold.  Allow to cure.
7.  Take a piece of wire and bend it into a horseshoe.  Then bend it, so it has an "L" shape (see video). Take a little super glue to tack it onto the back of the bunny.  Remember you want the horseshoe part sticking out of the resin, because you are creating a hook, so it can be hung.
8.  Pour more resin into the mold and make sure the ears are well attached.
9.  Allow to cure at least 12 hours before removing.
10.  Carefully remove from mold.  Drip some black acrylic paint into the indents of the eyes and the nose to finish it up.  If you are putting it outside, you might want to consider using resin.

That's it!  Hope you like it!

Thanks for stopping by and Happy Easter!!

Mona
