Time for a Sock Monkey coaster!  The sock monkey, boy is that a classic!  I decided it would only make sense to give the cute sock monkey stickers a fitting background, so I cut up some old socks.

You will need:
- Coaster mold:  http://amzn.to/1VbPp2P
- Sock Monkey stickers:  http://amzn.to/1TskzSn
Old socks:  in your sock drawer

Here is the video tutorial:

Directions:
1.  You want to cut old socks into small pieces.
2.  Mix one ounce of resin at a time.  I did two one ounce batches, because I am dipping the sock pieces into the resin and I didn't want fuzz from one color sock to get on the other color sock.
3.  I laid the pieces of dipped sock into the coaster mold.
4.  I then added another half ounce to each, so the surface would be level for the stickers.  I took my lighter and popped the bubbles and let it cure a minimum of 12 hours.
5.  I put my stickers on the cured resin and mixed two more ounces.
6.  I poured the resin over the stickers, popped the bubbles with my lighter and let it cure a minimum of 12 hours.

That's it!  No unmold it and you have some classic craft coasters!

Resin Button Pendant

To stay up on the latest, be sure to SUBSCRIBE to the Craft Klatch YouTube Channel HERE!

I love the vintage look of this pendant.  All those buttons I bought at the garage/estate sale last summer have been coming in handy!

You will need:
-  Bezel
-  Resin - I used Easy Cast
-  Buttons

Here are some similar items available through Amazon, incase you want to give it a try:

Here is the video tutorial:

Directions:
1.  Prepare your resin according to the package directions.  You will only need a very small amount of resin for this project.  I made more than I needed and used the remaining in another project.
2.  Dip your buttons, one by one in the resin and let them drain a little.  I used tweezers to do this.  Once I was finished with the tweezers, I immediately cleaned them off with rubbing alcohol.
3.  Place the buttons in the bezel.  After the first layer, I used my lighter to remove any bubbles, then I repeated the process with the second layer.
4.  Allow to cure.  Within the first hour or so of curing, make sure you go back several times to see if any bubbles are rising to the surface.

That's it!  Add a cord and you have a nice new necklace!  Thanks for stopping by and Happy Crafting!

Garbage to Gorgeous Episode #5: DIY Candle Jar Makeover

I've had some fun knobs from Hobby Lobby for a while now and I've had some empty candle jars - it was time to get them together!  I am using them to organize buttons in my craft room, but think for a bathroom (Q-tips, cotton balls, etc.).  Or decorate one as part of a gift and add homemade bath salts!

You will need:
-  Empty candle jars
-  Candlesticks:  https://amzn.to/2RggJlo
-  Acrylic paint:  https://amzn.to/2QTyqrm
-  Drawer pulls/knobs:  https://amzn.to/2LCIQG7
-  Glue - anything at adheres to glass (E6000, Super Glue Glue All, etc.):  https://amzn.to/2RleH3m
-  Drill or rotary tool:  https://amzn.to/2rVFzIQ
-  WD 40 to clean the candle jars, if you haven't cleaned them already:  https://amzn.to/2QSjDgV
-  Spray paint or primer:  https://amzn.to/2RlFbBG
-  Sandpaper:  https://amzn.to/2CzVbYR

Here is the video tutorial:

Directions:
1.  Clean the candle jar.  Start by loosening the was.  I find WD40 cleans the wax out and takes off the labels beautifully!  Once everything is removed, use some glass cleaner for a final clean up.

2.  Drill a whole in the middle of the lid.  If you want to find the center, trace the lid on a piece of paper.  Cut out the circle and fold it in half and again in half.  Cut the tip off.  The hole will be right in the center.  You can place it on the lid and mark the center.

3.  Lightly sand the lid.  You want to sand it just enough to give the paint a surface it can adhere to.

4.  Paint whatever color you want to the lid.  This will take a minimum of two coats.

5.  Paint the candlestick.  This will also take multiple coats.  If you are using a spray paint that will adhere to the glass, then you don't need a primer.  However, if you are going to use the acrylic paint, then you must first spray on a primer.  Otherwise, the paint will scrape right off.

6.  Glue the candlestick onto the bottom of the glass jar.

7.  Attach your decorative knob to the lid.

8.  Let everything dry and set and now you have a beautiful decorative jar!  What would have ended up in a landfill just found a new place in my home!

I thought I'd make some colorful jewelry with buttons!

You will need:
-  Buttons - the ones I used are from Oriental Trading (www.orientaltrading.com)
-  Ring blanks
-  Glue - Use a glue that dries clear and adheres to plastic
-  Parchment paper

Here is the video tutorial:

Directions:
1.  Spread your parchment on your work surface.
2.  Take your glue and put a small glob on the parchment paper.
3.  Take five small buttons of the same size and color and make sure you get and edge of each button into the glue.  Create a circle.
4.  With different colored button, add more glue to the middle of the circle and take the other button and put it in the middle.  That makes your flower button.  Let it dry completely.
5.  Take four rings, of different sizes and glue one on top of the other.
6.  Allow to dry.
7.  Once dry, you should be able to pull them off of the parchment paper.
8.  Using the same glue, glue the ring blanks on the back of both rings.  Allow to dry.

That's it!  Now you have fun button jewelry.  You can coordinate them with your outfits!

Thanks for stopping by and Happy Crafting!

You can click right HERE!

For easy reference, click on the Tutorials tab above.
Also, I created an Amazon store link, with items that I use in my crafts, just click on the
Products I Use above!

You will need:
-  Resin - I used Easy Cast (I have it linked below -- for info internationally go to www.eti-usa.com)
-  Owl brads (I found them at Hobby Lobby, but you could use stickers instead)
-  Iridescent glitter
-  Blue transparent resin dye
-  Buttons (from www.orientaltrading.com)
-  Beads - I used a kids necklace from Dollar Tree
-  Business card holder resin mold (available at www.resinobsession.com)
-  Mold release

Here is the video tutorial:

Directions:
1.  Spray the mold with mold release and allow to dry.
2.  Prepare your resin, according to the package directions.
3.  Take your owl brads and dip them into the resin and the place in the mold, where you want them placed.
4.  Follow with the buttons.
5.  Pour more resin into the mold - just enough to fill the bottom.  Cut the bead necklace to size and place into the resin at the top and bottom.
6.  Allow to cure at least six hours.  Use wire cutters to trim off the wire pieces from the back of the brads.
7.  Prepare more resin.  Add transparent blue dye and mix.  Add iridescent glitter and mix.
8.  Pour into mold.  I had to do two pours because I didn't make enough the first time.
9.  Allow to cure for at least 12 hours.
10.  I like to put the plastic molds into the freezer for 10 to 15 minutes, after it has cured.  It makes it pop out much easier.
11.  Unmold it and you are done!

Put your business cards in the holder and wow everyone!

You can also find it at Michaels, Hobby Lobby and Resin Obsession
- Glitter

Here is the video tutorial:

Button Flowers Craft Tutorial

You can click right HERE!

For easy reference, click on the Tutorials tab above.
Also, I created an Amazon store link, with items that I use in my crafts, just click on the

I love buttons and I love flowers!  I happened across pictures of button flowers on Pinterest, but didn't love the directions.  So, I tried it out for myself.  These buttons were provided to me by Oriental Trading Company.    If you are not familiar with Oriental Trading Company, you should be!  They have all kinds of products for all kinds of occasions.  Definitely take the time to check them out!

You will need:

-  Buttons
-  Glue - something that will adhere to plastic
-  Parchment paper (to work on)

Here is the video tutorial:

Directions:

1.  Choose your button arrangements.  I like to do 5 buttons on the bottom.  One right in the middle and then a smaller one to top it off.
2.  Working on parchment paper (so you don't glue your buttons to your work surface), put a glob of glue on the paper and add your five buttons, making sure all are in good contact with the glue.
3.  Next, add glue if needed, add your middle button.
4.  Put a dab of glue on the last button and put it on top of the middle button.

That's it!  Now you have decide what to do with them!  You can glue magnets to the back.  You can add them to barrettes.  Put pin backings on the back and you can attach it to a hat, or a jacket.  The possibilities are endless!!

Thanks for stopping by and Happy Crafting!!
