DIY Play Make Up Tutorial ~ Resin Crafts ~ Craft Klatch

Learn how to make some play makeup using resin and glitter!

Little girls love playing with make up.  This make up is sparkly, colorful and it won't make a mess!

Here's a quick tutorial, so you can see exactly how I made it:

The links below help support this channel,  as I may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you.
You will need:

Directions:
1.  I went to the dollar store and purchased some inexpensive powdered makeup.  I basically wanted it for the containers, but actually, you can save the make up in little containers and use them in the future, to color your resin!!!

2.  I used my craft knife to scrape out the make up.  I used the three color eyeshadows and the cover up to color the resin.  I used glitter and resin for the eyeshadow container that has all the little compartments.

3.  I crushed the powdered make up, to get it ready to mix into the resin.

4.  I stared off with one ounce of resin and split it into smaller cups.  I mixed the make up into the resin - you don't need too much.

5.  I dripped it into the make up containers.

6.  I used my lighter to pop the bubbles.  Be careful to run the lighter over quickly, or else you run the risk of melting the plastic.

I repeated with the cover up.

As I mentioned before, I mixed the resin and different color glitters for the other make up container.

7.  I let the resin cure a minimum of 12 hours before handling.  Then, I had great make up, perfect for play and dress up!

Directions:

1.  I have this heart mold that I found online.

2.  I mixed some resin depending on how many you want to make, but you can start with an ounce or two.

3.  I mixed in some metallic pigment powder.

4.  I poured it into the mold cavities and took a lighter and popped the bubbles.  Then I let it sit to harden.  I made a second batch, and added red India ink instead of the pigment powder.

5.  I mixed more resin, separated it and added confetti to some of it and beads to the rest.

Here is the confetti I used.

6.  I poured it onto the already cured resin.

7.  Then I popped the bubbles with the lighter and let it cure a minimum of 12 hours.

8.  Once cured, I removed them from the mold.

9.  I cut Mr and Mrs out of purple glitter vinyl and put it onto the paperweights.

That's it!  Now you have these beautiful resin paperweights and you can personalize them with different colors

I hope you enjoyed it and hope you found some inspiration in the project!

Resin Easter Chick Coasters | Resin Project | Another Coaster Friday | Craft Klatch | How To

Get ready to make a cute Easter coaster, with little chicks and glitter!

You will need:
Coaster mold:  http://amzn.to/2mptda4
Green glitter - I used green glitter flakes and then s little bit of green chunky glitter
Wood chick stickers:  I found them at Michaels

Here is the video tutorial:

Directions:
1.  Mix one ounce of resin, according to the package directions.
2.  Mix in the glitter flakes and a little bit of the green chunky glitter.
3.  Pour it into the mold.  Pop bubbles and allow it to cure.
4.  Once cured, you can stick the little chicks onto the resin.  I will suggest that you add some glue because I had one pop up on me.  I little crazy glue behind it will do the trick.
5.  Once the glue has dried, mix one maybe two ounces of resin and pour it over the chicks.
6.  Pop bubbles with your lighter and allow it to cure.  Because the chicks have a space between the resin and the actual wood, there will be more bubbles than usual, so just keep an extra eye on it.

Once cured, you have a super cute Easter coaster!

Resin Cupcake Coasters | DIY Projects| Another Coaster Friday | Craft Klatch | How To

Cupcakes are fun and brighten everyone's day, especially if they are colorful like these!

You will need (affiliate links):

Coaster mold:  http://amzn.to/2lJOjAc

Resin (use whatever resin brand you like):
FX Poxy:  http://amzn.to/2AF3Pkk ~ According to the manufacturer, this one is heat resistant to 500 degrees F.
Easy Cast:  http://amzn.to/2yjYmBC
Art Resin:  http://amzn.to/2yk9X3z
Clear Cast:  http://amzn.to/2z4rxGw

Wood cutouts:  I found them at Michaels

Fine glitter:  Match it to your colors:  https://amzn.to/2QhkdEu

Acrylic paint: The colors depend on what you want.

Chunky glitter:  Pick a fun background color:  https://amzn.to/2PpW35B

Here is the video tutorial:

Directions:
1.  I found these wood cupcake cut outs.  Mix two ounces of resin, according to the package directions.

2.  Separate into two different cups (one ounce each).  Add desired glitter into each cup and pour into coaster mold.

3.  Pop bubbles with lighter and allow it to cure for at least 12 hours.

4.  While it is curing, you can paint your cupcakes, whatever color you want.  I used acrylic paints.  Figure it will take at least two coats.

5.  When the resin has cured and the paint has dried, put packing tape on the back.  Be sure to burnish it down, so it is well adhered.

6.  Mix a small amount of resin and mix in fun glitter.  Carefully drip the mixtures into the open areas of the cupcakes.

7.  Carefully and quickly run your lighter over the resin areas. Remember, you are running a lighter over a piece of wood.  Do not leave it over one spot too long.  You do not want to set you project ablaze!

8.  Once cured, remove the tape and use a small amount super glue, on the back, to tack it to the resin.  Just a couple of small drops on the back of the cupcakes should do it.  Place them onto the resin and let them dry.

9.  Once they have dried, mix two more ounces of resin and pour it over the the cupcakes.  TIP:  Because there are voids between the wood and the resin, you will get more bubbles than usual.  Be vigilant and keep checking and popping bubbles, until they stop appearing.

10.  Allow to cure a minimum of 12 hours before unmolding.

That's it!  Pop those puppies out of the mold and you have fun coasters to brighten your decor and your day!
