DIY Halloween Tattoo Coasters | Another Coaster Friday | Craft Klatch

Learn how to make resin coasters using temporary tattoos for Halloween!  It's a fun DIY project!

Here is a quick video tutorial, so you can see exactly how I made them:

You will need:
Mold:  http://amzn.to/2FcRd7J
Temporary tattoos:  Party City
Pigment powders:  https://amzn.to/2RL523A
Black acrylic paint:  https://amzn.to/2J8YXKm
Skewer:  https://amzn.to/2CTXTJR
Lighter:  https://amzn.to/2NQusts
Wet Ones:  https://amzn.to/2pXbqrQ
Resin (use whatever resin brand you like):
Easy Cast:  http://amzn.to/2yjYmBC
Art Resin:  http://amzn.to/2yk9X3z
Clear Cast:  http://amzn.to/2z4rxGw
This is the resin I used for this project:
FX Poxy:  http://amzn.to/2AF3Pkk ~ According to the manufacturer, this one is heat resistant to 500 degrees F.
Fast Cast (optional for white background):  https://amzn.to/2wTZ6wc
White pigment (optional to tint clear resin for background):  https://amzn.to/2QbPRiU

Directions:

1.  I found some temporary tattoos with an old world creepiness to them.

2.  I mixed two ounces of resin.  I used a resin that cures white and is a quick curing resin.  You can use regular clear resin and add color instead.  Because the resin I used cures white, I had to take that into consideration when adding color.

3.  Once mixed, I poured the resin into the mold.

4.  Once cured, I cut out the tattoos.

5.  I laid them out on the coasters, for spacing purposes.

6.  I peeled off the clear backing and placed the tattoo face down.

7.  I used a wet one - you can also use a damp paper towel.

8.  I carefully peeled it up.

9.  I painted on dots for additional embellishment.

10.  I mixed two ounces of resin and poured it onto the coasters.

11.  I popped the bubbles, with my lighter and let it cure.

12.  Once cured, I removed it from the mold.

That's it!  Now you have some cool, but creepy tattoo coasters!

Thanks for stopping by!  Remember:  Life's too short not to shimmer, so grab your glue gun and your glitter!™  Stay safe!

Halloween Resin Coasters ~ Monster Silhouettes | Another Coaster Friday | Craft Klatch

Learn how to create Halloween Resin Coasters, with monster silhouettes!

Here is a quick video tutorial, so you can see exactly how I made them:

You will need:
Mold:  http://amzn.to/2FcRd7J
Circle cutter:  https://amzn.to/2LEBSjR
Transparency film (laser):  http://amzn.to/2EjhvUz
Alcohol inks:  https://amzn.to/2OlqUn4
Resin (use whatever resin brand you like):

Witch royalty free image:  http://www.clker.com/clipart-witch-6.html
Frankenstein royalty free image:  http://www.clker.com/clipart-frankenstein.html

Directions:

1.  Mix two ounces of resin.  You can either use a clear curing resin and add white pigment and let it cure.  Or you can use a faster curing resin, that cures white, in about 15 minutes.  Either will work fine.  You want to have one ounce in each coaster cavity.

2.  While the resin is curing, print out the silhouettes and cut them out with a circle cutter.  TIP:  Cut on the side that is not printed on.  You reduce the risk of scratching the image.

3.  Once cured, you can start adding the alcohol inks.  You can add them in any pattern you want and any combination you want.  You can move them around with a skewer stick.  Then, let them dry.

4.  Once dry, mix two more ounces of resin and pour into the molds.

5.  Pop the bubbles with your lighter.

6.  Slide in your transparency images.

7.  Press them down with the stir stick.

8.  Pop the bubbles and let them cure a minimum of 12 hours.

Once cured, you can pull them out of the molds!  They have a classic look to them!

Haunted House Coaster | DIY Project | Another Coaster Friday | Craft Klatch | How To | Halloween Series

Time for a spooky Halloween coaster!  It's a Haunted House Coaster!  I used stickers to make this project.  The house was actually a paper sticker.  Because it was a layered sticker, it is almost impossible to seal it, so I didn't.  I figured if the paper areas became blotchy, it would add to the character of the old house.

You will need:
-  Coaster mold:  http://amzn.to/2e2Du81
-  Stickers:  http://amzn.to/2flbzSp
-  Chunky black glitter:  http://amzn.to/2dR2uf8
-  Fine silver glitter:  http://amzn.to/2fl9yWx
-  Transparent blue pigment:  http://amzn.to/2e2CwIR
-  Transparent purple pigment:  http://amzn.to/2dR69JE
-  Green acrylic paint in different shades

Here is the video tutorial:

Directions:
1.  Mix one ounce of resin, according to the package directions.  Add a little of the transparent purple pigment and a little of the transparent blue pigment.
2.  Mix in a little chunky black glitter and a little silver glitter.
3.  Pour into the coaster mold.
4.  Pop bubbles with your lighter and allow it to sit a minimum of 12 hours.
5.  Take the haunted house sticker and trip the corners, so it fits into the mold.
6.  Stick it down.
7.  Add the moon partially behind it.  I added glow paint to the moon, but that is completely optional.
8.  With a thin brush, brush some grass blades at the bottom, so the house doesn't look like it's floating in space.
9.  Once dry, mix one ounce of resin.  Drip it slowly over the paper house and let it soak in.  Pour the remainder slowly over everything.
10.  Slide the ghost in, partially behind the house and place the tombstone in front of the house.
11.  Pop bubbles with your lighter.  You will get A LOT of bubbles, so be sure to stay on it.
12.  Allow to cure for 12 hours.
13.  Come back and paint another layer of grass, this time covering the bottom of the house and the tombstone.
14.  Once dry, pour one more ounce of resin over all of it.
15.  Pop bubbles and allow to cure!

I happened to put it in the stand and put a light behind it.  You can see how I made the lighted base here:

That is it!  Happy Halloween and remember:

Zombie Pumpkins | DIY Project | Craft Klatch | Halloween Series | How To

You can click right HERE!
Like my FACEBOOK page HERE!

Halloween is ever closer, to get in the spirit, I zombified some pumpkins. Obviously it works for Halloween, but if you want to decorate for the impending Zombie Apocalypse , have at it!

The links below contain affiliate links that support this blog and channel, at no additional cost to you.

You will need:
-  Green pumpkins
-  Plastic teeth:  https://amzn.to/2BKeSvd
-  Hot glue:  https://amzn.to/2SqFIQd
-  Acrylic paint (brown, black, pink, red, green, gray, purple): https://amzn.to/2CFma5o
-  Googly eyes or other eyes:  https://amzn.to/2BONzjk
-  Bouncing eyeballs: https://amzn.to/2LEimnE
-  Optional black foam for eyebrows: https://amzn.to/2BN1PsV

Here is the video tutorial:

Start by finding some lumpy pumpkins - something with a green tinge would be best!  If you want a more permanent decoration, consider using a dried gourd.   Gourds:  https://amzn.to/2BLjfq2

Directions:
1.  Glue on eyes and teeth to the pumpkin.  I cut the teeth from some cheap vampire teeth.  I as able to cut them with scissors.  The eyes don't need to be even, you don't have to have two and the mouth can be crooked as well.  No two pumpkins will end up alike and that's the beauty of it.

2.  Once you have attached the eyes and teeth, use your hot glue to build up around the features.  It's best to watch the video to see how it was done.  I also added some drippy stuff up by the stem.

3.  Once the glue has cooled, you can start to paint.  Use a variety of colors mixed to to create bloody, rotting, bruised looking flesh.

4.  Let it dry.  I added eye brows to one of the zombies to make him look a little angry.  You can do felt or craft foam eyebrows.  I also made smear marks in random places around the pumpkin, so the rest of it didn't look forgotten.

That's it!

Happy Halloween of Zombie Apocalypse!
