DIY Play Make Up Tutorial ~ Resin Crafts ~ Craft Klatch

Learn how to make some play makeup using resin and glitter!

Little girls love playing with make up.  This make up is sparkly, colorful and it won't make a mess!

Here's a quick tutorial, so you can see exactly how I made it:

The links below help support this channel,  as I may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you.
You will need:

Directions:
1.  I went to the dollar store and purchased some inexpensive powdered makeup.  I basically wanted it for the containers, but actually, you can save the make up in little containers and use them in the future, to color your resin!!!

2.  I used my craft knife to scrape out the make up.  I used the three color eyeshadows and the cover up to color the resin.  I used glitter and resin for the eyeshadow container that has all the little compartments.

3.  I crushed the powdered make up, to get it ready to mix into the resin.

4.  I stared off with one ounce of resin and split it into smaller cups.  I mixed the make up into the resin - you don't need too much.

5.  I dripped it into the make up containers.

6.  I used my lighter to pop the bubbles.  Be careful to run the lighter over quickly, or else you run the risk of melting the plastic.

I repeated with the cover up.

As I mentioned before, I mixed the resin and different color glitters for the other make up container.

7.  I let the resin cure a minimum of 12 hours before handling.  Then, I had great make up, perfect for play and dress up!

DIY: How to Make Easter Egg Coasters

We've made a couple of cork coasters in the past, so Easter is the perfect time to make some more!  They are perfect to get the kids involved and they will surely knock this craft out of the park!

You will need:
Acrylic paint:  Choose colors that you like!

Here is the video tutorial:

Directions:
1.  Draw an egg shape on a piece of paper and cut it out.
2.  The cork has a sticky side and you want to cut out a piece that is bigger than the egg shape.  Then you remove the backing paper of two pieces and stick them together (sticky side to sticky side).
3.  Trace the egg shape on the cork that is stuck together and cut it out.
4.  Paint both sides of the egg with a base coat.  Figure it will take at least two coats.
5.  Then you decorate with what every colors and designs you like!

Once dry, you have colorful and festive Easter eggs!!!

Create quick and easy Pilgrim coasters that are perfect for Thanksgiving.  I'll show you how to in this DIY craft tutorial!  These are inexpensive, easy and perfect for a kids craft, or if you are looking to do a Girls Night before the holidays, this will get everyone in the spirit!

You will need:
-  Cork:  http://amzn.to/2fsCzvg
-  Acrylic paint in black, white, gray, flesh, gold and brown

Here is the video tutorial:

Directions:
1.  Using the roll of cork and the pilgrim templates below (or pilgrims you drew yourself), measure how much cork you need and cut out two equal rectangles.
2.  Pull back the backing, line them up and stick the two sticky sides together.
3.  Trace the templates onto the cork.  Tip:  Using a pencil is better than pen.
4.  Cut out the pilgrims.
5.  Paint them.  Let the kids get creative!!
6.  Let them dry.

***While the paint is drying, it may cause them to curl a little.  Take the curled coasters and on the edge of a counter top, or table, run the backside (non-painted side) along the counter (I show how in the video above) and they should straighten right up!

Here are the templates:

That's it!  Happy Thanksgiving!  Remember:  Life's too short not to shimmer, so grab your glue gun and your glitter!™  Stay safe!
